Service Truck Body Types We Sell in North Carolina
Whether you call them service trucks, utility trucks, or mechanic trucks, the body bolted to the chassis is what defines the work the truck will actually do. Here’s what Lilley International builds and stocks for owner-operators across North Carolina.
Mechanic Body
Drawer storage, locking compartments, and a heavy-duty workbench surface so you can pull, diagnose, and rebuild on-site. Most pair a Maintainer body with a 6,000–14,000 lb crane on an International or Ford chassis (18,000–26,000 GVW). Ideal for the one-man shop where the truck is the shop.
Service Body
The catch-all utility truck — open compartments and a flat deck for hauling tools, fittings, parts, and gear job to job. Our most-requested configuration because it fits nearly any trade: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, well service, irrigation. Built on Ford F600, Isuzu NRR, or International MV depending on the GVW you need.
Welder Body
Purpose-built for mobile welding — mounted welder/generator combo, lead reels, gas bottle racks, and a deck laid out to rig up and start striking arcs without unpacking. Most ride on an International or Ford chassis with a Maintainer body and integrated air compressor.
Crane Body
A service body with an integrated boom or knuckle crane — for lifting compressors, valves, gearboxes, or anything heavier than two hands can manage. We spec Maintainer cranes up to 14,000 lb capacity on International, Ford, and Isuzu chassis. Pays for itself the first month on well, pump, or industrial work.
Wrecker Body
Tow and recovery body — wheel-lift, sling, or rotator setups for light, medium, or heavy-duty recovery. Mounted on Ford, International, or Peterbilt chassis depending on recovery class. Single-operator medium-duty wreckers are the most common build for local towing operators in the Raleigh, Rocky Mount, and Williamston markets.
Hauler Body
Flatbed or RV hauler configuration — long deck, fifth-wheel hitch, or gooseneck setup for moving equipment, trailers, or RVs over the road. Often built on the same Ford F600 or International MV chassis as our service trucks, but with the body swapped for an open hauling deck. A fit for owner-operators in transport, equipment moving, or RV delivery.
